Ownership: The 2025 Split

The IGT name no longer belongs to the company that carried it onto the New York Stock Exchange. International Game Technology PLC states that it completed the sale of its Gaming & Digital business to a holding company owned by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. on 1 July 2025, and that effective 2 July 2025 it began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under its business name, Brightstar Lottery, and the new ticker symbol BRSL. The lottery business kept the listing and took the new name; the gaming and digital business — the part that supplies slot, table and online casino content — went to Apollo and kept the IGT brand. IGT's own investor-relations page names Voyager Parent LLC as the parent company of the IGT Gaming & Digital business and of Everi, and records that Voyager Parent LLC issued $1.85 billion of senior secured notes due 2032 in May 2025. IGT's site states plainly that IGT and Everi are affiliated organizations, and the product menu on igt.com now runs casino payments and kiosks alongside slots.

Corporate History Behind the Name

The listed company's own account of its history, published by Brightstar Lottery, starts in Providence, Rhode Island in 1976 with the group that became GTECH, adds Lottomatica — formed in 1990 as a consortium of Italian public and private companies — and records that GTECH and Lottomatica combined in 2006 and that in 2015 they joined forces with IGT. Brightstar states that in 2025 it sold IGT's digital and gaming business and renamed the company Brightstar Lottery, and that it now has approximately 6,000 employees.

What It Supplies to Online Casinos

Online the business trades as IGT iGaming. Its own product page describes an omnichannel catalogue rather than an online-only studio: titles that ran first on casino floors and are then released to online operators, including Wheel of Fortune®, Prosperity Link™ and Mystery of the Lamp™. IGT states that it was the first supplier in the industry to successfully link land-based and online progressive prize pools, with the launch of Powerbuck$® in 2016, and names MegaJackpots and Money Mania among its progressive titles. It also sells an engagement platform of promotional tools — a prize engine, leaderboards, missions, prize draws, a player hub and a network promotion called MEGA VAULT — sold separately from the games themselves.

Where It Is Licensed

IGT states that IGT and affiliate companies hold more than 500 global gaming licences, governed by state, provincial, national, tribal and other governmental gaming agencies. Three of those were read on the Gambling Commission's own public register. IGT UK Interactive Limited, account 64570, holds remote gambling software licence 064570-R-339247-004, active from 6 September 2024. IGT, account 64569, holds remote gambling software licence 064569-R-339253-003, active from the same date. IGT-UK Gaming Limited, account 64568, holds non-remote and remote gaming machine technical (full) licences, 064568-N-339246-003 and 064568-R-339245-003. In Malta, IGT's own licence statement records IGT Europe Gaming B.V. holding licence number MGA/CRP/359/2017, issued 1 August 2018; IGT Malta Casino Ltd holding MGA/B2B/168/2007, issued 1 August 2018; and ISB Magma Ltd holding MGA/B2B/624/2018, issued 12 May 2021 — each authorising Type 1 (Casino) critical gaming supplies.
