Founding and Ownership

Thunderkick states that it set out in 2012 as a small studio, and that it has since grown to a team of more than 80 in Stockholm. The company describes itself in the present tense as independent, saying that staying independent and true to its roots gives it the freedom to experiment. No parent company is named anywhere on its own site, and no acquisition is announced there.

What It Makes

Thunderkick makes video slots. Its games page states that every Thunderkick game is made in-house, and names Esqueleto Explosivo and Pink Elephants among its established titles. The site lists games individually, by category, rather than publishing a total.

Where It Is Licensed

Two Thunderkick companies hold British gambling software licences. Thunderkick AB, of Vasagatan 11 in Stockholm, is account number 40165 on the Gambling Commission's public register, and Thunderkick Malta Limited, of Floriana, is account number 41752. Thunderkick's own site footer states both account numbers. Thunderkick publishes no Maltese licence number of its own.

How Fruit Warp Works

Fruit Warp is the clearest example of how far Thunderkick will go from a conventional slot. The studio’s own page for the game lists its pay lines as "Not applicable", and sets the game up as one in which "A rift in the space-time sucks fruit into another dimension!" The studio describes the bonus the same way: "5 fruits or more will activate the Fruit Mode where the dynamic multiplier can make your win seem like something from another world."
