Craps Casino Site Rules
Craps is played at a long, rectangular table with one player at a time acting as the shooter. This player throws two dice down the table while everyone else places various bets on how the dice land. The first and most basic bet is called the “pass line bet.”
The shooter begins the round by throwing the dice. This is called the “come out roll.” If the come out roll is a 7 or 11, it’s an automatic win for the players with pass line bets. If the come out roll is a 2, 3 or 12, it’s called a “craps” and it’s an automatic loss for the players with pass line bets.
On all other numbers, the come out roll establishes a point. In that case, the shooter continues throwing the dice until one of two things happens:
1. If the point that was established earlier is rolled again before a 7 is rolled, the players with pass line bets win.
2. If a 7 is rolled again before the point is rolled again, the players with pass line bets lose. When this happens, it’s called a “seven-out.”
The same player continues throwing the dice until he sevens out. After that, the option to be the shooter passes on to the next player.
This is how a basic round of craps works. During the round, you may also make a variety of other bets but the pass line bet is the only one you absolutely need to know.
Other Craps Casino Game Bets
Don’t Pass Line
The don’t pass line bet is the opposite of the pass line bet. If the come out roll is a 2 or 3, the don’t pass line bet is an automatic win. If the come out roll is a 7 or 11, it’s an automatic loss. If the come out bet is a 12, it’s a tie.
On all other come out rolls, a point is established and the don’t pass line bet wins if a 7 is rolled before the point. The don’t pass line bet loses if the point is rolled again before a 7 is rolled.
Come Bet
Come bets are very similar to pass line bets except come bets are made after a point has been established. The come bet wins if the next throw is a 7 or 11 and it loses if the next throw is a 2, 3 or 12. When any other number is rolled, it establishes a point for the purposes of the come bet. If that point is rolled again before a 7, the come bet wins. If a 7 is rolled before the point is rolled again, the come bet loses.
Don’t Come Bet
The don’t come bet is the opposite of the come bet. It works almost like the don’t pass line bet except it is made after a point has already been established. The don’t come bet wins if the next throw is a 2 or 3 and it loses if the next throw is a 7 or 11. It is a tie if the next roll is a 12.
All other throws establish a point for the don’t come bet. If that point is rolled again before a 7, the don’t come bet loses. If a 7 is thrown before the point is thrown again, the don’t come bet wins.
Taking the Odds In Craps
If you place a pass line bet at the beginning of a round, you may also take the odds later in that same round. Once a point has been established, you can place an additional wager that the point will be rolled again before a 7. The difference between this and the come bet is that this bet is not based on a new point – it’s sort of like placing a second pass line bet after the point has been established.
This time, the payouts are a little different. Depending on what the point is when you take the odds, your payouts for winning bets will be as follows:

The reason the payouts are different with this bet is because the casino pays out at true odds. In other words, there is no house advantage with this bet. The only house advantage comes from the fact that you must first place a pass line bet before you may take the odds.
Laying the Odds In Craps Games
This is the opposite of the taking the odds bet and it is available only if you placed a don’t pass line bet at the beginning of the round. With this bet, you are hoping to see a 7 before the point is rolled again. This bet also has no house advantage.

Playing A Field Bet In Craps
Compared to the last few bets, the field bet is very simple. All the field bet is is a wager on the outcome of the next roll of the dice. You win this bet if the dice land on 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. You lose this bet if the dice land on 5, 6, 7 or 8. This bet pays out even money on all outcomes except for 2 and 12. Those numbers are rarer than the others so the casino pays out 2 to 1 on your money when that happens.
Place and Buy Bets At Craps
These are actually two different bets but they are so similar that they can be lumped together. The only difference between these bets is how the house profits. In the place bet, you are paid out at slightly less than true odds. In the buy bet, you are paid at true odds but the house takes a 5% commission out of your bet.
Place and buy bets allow you to pick any number you want and then bet that that number will be rolled before a 7 is rolled.

Place Bet to Lose and Craps Lay Bets
These two bets are the opposites of the above two bets. The place bet to lose pays out at slightly less than true odds and the lay bet pays out at true odds but the casino takes a 5% commission out of your bet.

Craps Casino Site Hard Way Bets
When the dice land on a number that is composed of pairs, that number is said to have been rolled the hard way. For example, a 6 the hard way means that the dice landed so that there were two 3s. A 4 rolled the hard way means that the dice landed so that there were two 2s. When dice are rolled the easy way, it means that they were composed of two different numbers. An 8 rolled the easy way means it was composed of a 6 and 2 or a 5 and 3.
